How is your courage today?

Hello... how is your courage today?

I have to smile as I think of that question - a question the pastor of my church often asks our congregation. It's a question worth pondering.

Do you ever have difficulty finding courage to face the day? Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Overworked? Stressed out? Frustrated? Unorganized? I know I do! Life is crazy-busy in this world of ours!
We all know that stress kills, and we need to stop and smell the roses, right? With so many responsibilities and so much work piling up around our ears, how on Earth do we even have time to find any roses let alone smell them?!?!

On his Web site,
http://bit.ly/GI41kZ, Ken Davis reminds us of some simple steps we can take to be more organized - to improve our focus and "renew our courage" - steps to help clear our cluttered minds and lend order to our physical worlds in the process. Following these basic guidelines can put us on the path to holistic wellness! If we're honest with ourselves, there's probably not one single tip on this brilliant man's list that is new to us. We often know what we should do, but we have to be purposeful about following through with our tasks. Sometimes the most simple things can jump start significant lifestyle changes. So do yourself a favor; read through the suggestions this well-known comedian offers on his site, and be purposeful about putting his reminders into practice.

In addition, hold on to God's promises when life's "demons" attack, whatever those demons are for you. It's possible this fast-paced merry-go-round of life isn't spinning too fast for you. Maybe you don't have difficulty being organized and productive. Chances are, there is something that tests your courage from time-to-time though. Whatever challenges you might face in life, always remember to trust them to God because He can give you strength. "Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you"

So tell me... ho
w is your courage today?

May God bless you richly...

Journey Toward Wellness

Hello Friends...

With so many things demanding our time/attention these days, determining what is most important to share with you is challenging. It is my prayer that I will be able to share messages that will have some relevance to you... things that will, somehow, brighten your days or touch you in special ways... hopefully, always pointing to and glorifying our Creator.

As I'm writing this now, WFRN Radio (http://wfrn.com/) is playing "DAYS OF ELIJAH" by Robin Mark. Soon after this "happy song" started, I heard a "THUD" and immediately knew a bird had hit a window. This always concerns me, and I rushed to check the status of the unfortunate creature. Imagine my surprise when I found that the victim of the incident was a very large hawk. Fortunately, he was only momentarily stunned and flew away as I approached him.

So how does all of this relate to anything important? My thoughts on this are many and include frustration over how we (humans) have endangered nature with our "brilliant inventions" (i.e.: windows, motorized vehicles, etc.). However (and on a positive note), I believe God gives us signs each and every day. He communicates with us in "subtle" ways. We simply need to "listen" for His voice: "Then He said, 'Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.' And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?' 1 Kings 19:11-13 (New King James Version)" ~ http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Kings%2019:11-13&version=NKJV.

Do you find yourself in a "cave" today? Are you searching for "answers" in your life? Have you stopped to listen for His "still small voice" lately? Every time I do that, I am always reminded of the many ways He is with me. He was with me in the beautiful music I heard on the radio, and He reminded me He was still present (and in control) when the hawk "visited" my back yard. Sadly, we sometimes get so busy in life that we fail to recognize the signs He puts in front of us every day. When we fall into the "busyness trap," we allow ourselves to travel a road that leads to sickness in many areas of our lives. If we are to find relief from that sickness, we must exit our caves, stand on the mountains, and listen for the voice of the Master Healer.

It is my prayer today that we will learn from each other as we journey toward Wellness together.

God bless...

A Quest for Wellness - Introduction

Hello... and thank you for visiting my new blog....

Although my interests are many, my focus today is on health/wellness and how that relates to God's plans for us. It is my belief that God wants each of us to have an abundant life and that He has provided mankind with information that would allow us - His special creation - to experience greater health (spiritual, physical, and financial health) if we would only pay attention to His messages. It was never God's intention for us to experience sickness, suffering, or death. He has given us counsel to live by, the most important of which is His Holy Word, that we might have those things He intended us to have; He has also spoken through His chosen people throughout all generations. We need to take heed while there is still time to do so. By living according to His Word, it is possible to not only improve the quality of our own lives, but to be able to reach others for Him as well. Won't you join me on this quest for total wellness?

As I close this message, I would like to share the sentiment expressed in 3 John: 1:2, "Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well" (New International Version).
